Cranberry Hearts Dog Treats

Ingredients: 

  • 2 eggs
  • 180g almond flour (use an alternative if your dog has a nut allergy)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 3-4 tbsp coconut flour
  • Handfull of dried cranberries

Method: 

  1. Whisk the eggs in a bowl then set to one side
  2. Combine the almond flour, coconut oil and dried cranberries together in a bowl
  3. Add the eggs and mix together with your hands to make a wet dough
  4. Start adding the coconut flour on tbsp at a time mixing as you go
  5. You're aiming for a consistency that easy to roll and not too sticky (it should easily form a ball)
  6. Rollout the dough and either cut or hand-shape into heart shapes
  7. Add to a lined baking tray and bake for 15-18 mins or until crisp
  8. Cool before serving - makes around 20 treats

Valentine's Day Dog Treat Recipes

Peanut Butter & Chicken Heart Dog Biscuits

Ingredients: 

  • 150 chicken broth
  • 20g peanut butter (xylitol free)
  • 1 egg
  • 290g almond flour (use an alternative if your dog has a nut allergy)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder

Method:

  1. Combine the chicken broth, peanut butter and egg into a bowl
  2. Add in the baking powder and almond flour and mix well
  3. Add an additional 1 tbsp of almond flour at a time until the dough is dry enough to roll out onto parchment paper
  4. Roll dough out about ¼ of an inch thick
  5. Sprinkle a little almond flour on top of dough before you cut into heart shapes
  6. Bake for 15 minutes, then turn the cookies over and bake an additional 9-10 minutes
  7. Cool before serving

Quick Strawberry Hearts Dog Treats

Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp coconut oil
  • 3-4 strawberries finely diced
Method:
  1. Add a few pieces of strawberries to each compartment of a silicone mould or ice cube tray
  2. Melt the coconut oil in the microwave, around 30-60 seconds
  3. Pour the melted coconut oil over the strawberries and freeze
  4. When frozen, pop from the mould or tray and store in the freezer
  5. Simples!
