The Labradoodle as it name suggest is a crossbreed between a Labrador Retriever and the poodle. The breed first appeared in the 1950s, but it is only in recent years that it has become so popular – although some controversy remains over their status as a true breed. It’s complicated. Don’t ask.
What you need to know is that they are a lovely mix that combines the trainability and gentle nature of the Labrador Retriever with the cuddly affability of a poodle. Their fur is generally considered to only lightly shed and thought to be beneficial to dog owners who suffer from allergies or hayfever.
Grooming schedules differ according to lifestyle. If your dog is often outside you might have to brush them once a week to keep their fur nice and tidy, but if they mainly live indoors then once a fortnight should suffice.
